Ludovic Alleaume - Gifted Gallery

Ludovic Alleaume, born 1859, was a French painter, lithographer and designer of stained glass. He studied in his native Angers, where he was apprenticed to decorative painters, and also studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. An excellent draughtsman, Alleaume worked in an academic style that owed little to the more avant-garde trends in contemporary French art. He is perhaps best known today as a designer of stained glass decorations, including many stained glass windows for churches throughout France.
